So 1.6 is out for the minecraft CLIENT, but there are no 1.6 bukkit servers or mods updated yet

so if you want to play online you should either do a separate install using MultiMC for 1.6, or wait until your favorite server (or servers) are upgraded

1.6 so drastically changed the launcher and the paths that most mods and utilities like multiMC or forge will require much more work to support it..

mojang, in classic form, has NOT made 1.6.2 backward compatible with 1.6.1

once again making a minor bugfix release, with ZERO PROTOCOL CHANGES and ZERO reasons for the incompatibility, ruining all the efforts of server owners and mod authors who labored to support 1.6.1
