I assumed they would have around 4 and would come to my house and breed them and allow me to tame the pups.

I have tried that before the pups will automatically become the property of the owner of the dogs, the only way is to find them in the wild and give them a bone yourself. But if there is another way let me know as I too want my doggies back i had a pack of 8 on the old map.

Oh really? That's unfortunate. Would the person buying the wolves be able to breed them and have them tamed to a new person?
Either way, I'll probably have to go find some anyway.
