neat... I also really like this "HD" youtube, its not perfect, but its pretty damn good all considering.

I wonder who that zealot is, is that supposed 2 be zeratul? And yeah, the old Kerrigan (and Jim) voice actors are apparently gone.

hmmm, on the negative side, looks like SC2 will have DRM, it will require people to go online and create a b.net account before they can install the game.

http://www.incgamers.com/News/17885/starcraft-ii-gets-drm

Funny how pirates wont have to worry about this "DRM" to play the campaign, but if a legit user has there net down = they cant even install the game.

Somewhat relevant video someone else posted: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mt4BpnfAN-o

ya i hate this trend of DRM, cause the pirates get around it every time anyway, all it ever does it hassle the legitimate users

http://www.starcraft-source.com/article/news/view/?id=292

summed up: There will be "tiers" (Practice, Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Pro). When the leagues end there will be tourne for each tier. Lower tiers means slower speed and newb maps.

Also one account max per CD-key.

Im going to abuse the hell out of this system.

man, I am really not liking this. the more I read the angry I get.

As a programmer we both know that it would be beyond easy to code a custom game filter in a listbox. Yet its MIA from SC/WAR3, it finnally will be in b.net2. I could of done this in high school with 1 month of experience in VB6.

Other then that, what positive NEW announcements did we get? People can change private games to public (so you can get your friends in before you hit START)... Thats about it.... I dont care about facebook or twitter. I dont care about the ID thing (I dont play WoW).

The bad:
- One account per CD-Key
- Another lame AMM that tries to match you based on your skill (yeah cause that worked out real well in war3 :\ ).
- Some tiers will have negative side effects (like lame maps, slower game speeds, or missing maps you may have liked)
- Custom maps may cost you MONEY NOW (if the author choices)
- You can only play single player on a "guest account".

I think its greed (edit: and wanting to make sure they have full control). With one account per CD-KEY people will need to purchase the game a few times if they have brothers/sisters.

Example: What if your kid (and/or wife) wanted to play... Because you are much more skilled then both of them the games would not be fun for them (they would get dominated, while hurting your record)... your only solution is to dish out money to get more keys.

Same can be said about maps that cost money.... I would not be surprised if Blizzard takes in some of it... they are probably hoping for a dota like game that will rake them in extra cash (while other people do all the work).

I think 3 accounts per CD-key would of been much more appropriate.

hmmmm, if they require people to connect to the net to install, that means CD-key algorithm wont be in the code (there wont be keygens).... I wonder if people were bruteforcing war3 keys? Im sure its very possible and easy with SC.... Spam bots own b.net Sad Many people often hit the TDA clan (dota channel).

oh shit only 1 account period per cdkey? that is BULLSHIT

i thought you just meant only 1 could be online at a time

so if you get banned for 'hacking' you have to buy a new cd key..
that totally sucks

hacking is hard, I dont know how you do it :\

My Goal: Add a command to war3 that lets me join games from the channel.
Where I am: Still trying to hack my own TEST program Tongue

But yeah, with warden you never if they gonna ban you if they see you using tsearch/ida/whatever. I know you really trust your setup, but the direction Blizzard is going, it would not surprize me if they ban that also.... So you sort of need to hack warden then hack sc2.

i used to know how to hack around their detection.. that was a long time ago though
wonder how much more theyve done to protect against it

but ya the feature you described wouldve been extremely simple for starcraft
its a single function call
i found it before, i could probably find it again in 20 minutes or less

im sure its very simple with war3 also, but hacking was never my thing (even in my assembly days).

Right now im playing with ollydbg, it lets me right click on a instructions, and click "help on command" and it gives me a decent explanation of what is going on. That along with some tutorials = good refresher.

As for my project, it may be a simple function call, but the hard part is finding that function. And even harder may be adding the opcodes so war3 will recognize the command, and call the function with the proper parameters. (edit: But maybe ill try this on sc before war3, im sure its safer and quicker then war3)

Also on a side note, you may want to try the IDA demo one day. It seems insanity powerful (2 advance for me). You can decompile the code and see it in a flowchart like way. There is even an add-on that lets you convert it into a C like language.
