ill have to come check this out just to see how many torches are used in the caves hahaha Wink

[/]

It is possible to go in circles there in 3 places. I have as yet to post signs showing how to get to different parts. There are a few stacks of torches down there, so if you go, do me a favor and spam torches somewhere that hasn't been explored yet. Smiley

A city can be built in the caves below my Monastery. There's a crazy amount of room down there.

I want to have an Industrial Commune model town down there if possible.

Like, if you use something from the common room (tools and food), you replace/replant it. But ores and supplies you produce alone belong to only you. In a nutshell, common ownership of the means of production (mining tools, mines, and farms) but private ownership of the products which one labors for. It's an organizational model I've wanted to test for a while. This would be my personal ideal system, somewhat similar to Israeli Kibbutzim.

I finished the Hostile MOB farming apparatus about 5 minutes ago; but no MOBs are spawning anywhere near my structures for the last 3 game days, in the farm included. There also seems to be a flow problem. The water springs inside may need adjustment.  undecided

I set it up so that spiders wouldn't spawn in there, but they might anyways... I'm probably going to make a fall trap specially for them because they clog up the drowning trap chute if you make it to kill other MOBs, but if you make it wide enough to fit spiders, it launches live ones out the bottom on occasion.  shocked

===

I heard someone mining down in my caves today, but all my mining gear was still in the chest and nobody answered when I tried to chat... It was pretty creepy. Only SavanahMile, annoddhue, intangir, locke, and one other person whose name escapes me have the coords to my place, so it's weird...

===

I'm taking a several hour break from gaming today because We're ordering seed for the homestead. We have a huge garden with mushrooms, veggies, grains, seeds, legumes, herbs, fruits, edible flowers, and we're considering the possibility of adding aquaponics to farm lotus and crawdads. (Lotus tubers are tasty fried and the flowers make good offerings on the Buddhist altar.) During the growing season I won't be on nearly as much because of not only working the thousand or so square feet of garden on 2 properties, but also because it will be warm enough in my unheated shop to get to the piles of raw timber that I hand-hew into beams and make into sturdy furniture, and my ceramic studio and jewelry shop where I make all sorts of stuff... When it gets warm out, I get busy busy busy.

I got a lot done on my sky island today... 2 floors of the pagoda are done, another cobblestone maker is complete and doubles as elevator to get down to the construction platform.

===

I've been asked 101 (binary) times or so now, so I suppose I'll have to address the issue of my gender... I'm not sure how to answer in a way that's easy to understand... but I'll give it a whirl.  tongue

Okay, so outwardly, I appear to be a fairly normal if very tall and slightly chunky man. However, genetically; I'm both male and female. My brain function is not considered average for either sex, but when compared to average functions, I was found to have 80% feminine brain function. The rest was considered masculine and/or androgynous. Though my preference for working with my hands (I'm an artist for a living.) and having a high-functioning form of Autism probably skewed this result significantly. For example, this is why I'm very meticulous and analytical, a typically masculine trait. I'm also into martial arts and have an extensive weapons collection including war relics. I'm also a survivalist who can start off with stone age tech and get up to 1800s level tech in 5 years. My high school science fair project was rejected because it was about ethanol production. A lot of people seem to consider this manly... My own feelings seem to be of most import, but I'm not really sure about it myself. I guess I have moods. The obvious way to determine physical sex is moot in this case. And checking what sex I'm attracted to is moot too since it's not a factor in how I choose a mate. I prefer romance stories over action. Growing up I had more testosterone, but now it's more or less in balance with the estrogenic compounds. My condition is technically a form of "intersex" but I fall into the same legal category as transgender folks...

So, as you can see, it's complicated.  undecided

This issue causes a lot of drama in my family because my family is largely catholic and fundamentalist christian, and they think science is there to subvert their god, so they think that my medical disposition is some kind of choice that I've made and that it makes me a "sinful" person. When I suggested corrective therapies, they flipped out and accused me of all sorts of awful but entirely unrelated stuff. At the time, I was a devout Christian myself. But I had to read the Bible to give them a proper rebuttal, which I did and they refused to read. In reading it, I found quite a lot of things I disagreed with on moral grounds: things that disagreed with the ZAP. This realization was compounded by the fact that my prayers for inner peace and help forgiving those who had wronged me were ignored. So I started looking into other religions and testing them for possibility of causing suffering. It seemed that Buddhism and Shinto were the most suitable for my moral code and worldview and the least likely to cause people to suffer. So I prayed to the Kami and felt refreshed and happy. I prayed to Kanzeon Bosatsu (the Bodhisattva of Compassion) and was able to forgive people with whom I'd held decade and a half long grudges. In practicing meditation with Mantras (both Buddhist and Shinto), I obtained inner peace and my formerly very severe PTSD is all but gone. After seeing these results, I converted immediately. I have an altar in my house dedicated to Kanzeon Bosatsu and Ame no Uzume no Mikoto. I've already had informal priestly training through correspondence.

In response to this, I haven't yet visited your place. But as far as the mob farm goes, I would decrease the amount of lighting near your farm to increase spawn rates.

Ohhh.... I may just have to move it across to bay... I looked up the problem online, and apparently, they can spawn in my mines and use up the area's MOB quota.  cheesy

The sound of mining was coming from Slimes hopping around.

I've added a piston to one of my cobble makers so that it pops out a bunch of cobble and you just gotta mine it... but it is less dangerous than the original where an errant picking would result in a fiery death-by-lava.

The building with the oak roof is a Kaguraden, the Temizuya is visible on the left between to Torii and the entry. The 2 stone squarish things are lanterns. The chest on the honden acts as a saisen bako and also holds a book containing 3-4 actual Norito and the Hi Fu Mi chant.
