Name Changes


Mojang Name Changes
Now that mojang is allowing name changes on accounts people can update their name on mojangs websites and log in. Unfortunately some of the unique mods on this server do not properly support UUIDs/renames! So for now, when you change your name, it will be overridden back to what it originally was until you complete the steps below.

Local Name Changes
Want to change your name to a name that is already taken or overwise unavailable through mojang? You can override your name on our server to just about whatever you want (subject to approval) Follow the steps below first to avoid problems.

Steps
In order for your Citadel and field protections to work after a rename, you will either need to setup a group for your new name, or reprotect/recreate them after you break into them on your new name. If you have no heavily protected chests or doors or anything and you don't care about switching them over to a group first, then skip to 6, otherwise you will need to follow these steps first:
  1. Create a new group for yourself ( /ctcreate <newgroup>)
  2. Add your new name to the group as a moderator ( /ctaddmod <newgroup> <newname>)
  3. Protect all of your chests and doors and important blocks to the new group ( /ctr group <newgroup> then punch all of your chests and doors with an empty hand)
  4. Add your new name to your bumpers and snitches ( /ps allowall <newname>)
  5. You can use /cti to double check the groups on your blocks
  6. When your ready to switch, Post on the Name Change Thread Here
  7. I will update your name as soon as I see your post and approve it.
  8. Afterwards, any remaining chests or blocks that you didn't add to a group you can simply break into. Hand protection takes 5 breaks. stone 25, etc as listed on the citadel page.
Notices
  • Beam down locations will be lost (beamdown before changing it if your somewhere hard to reach)
  • Other mods may also have issues that we haven't discovered yet. Hopefully nothing else serious..
Approval
As soon as I notice your name change thread request, I will verify my check list below, then I will update it, if you are in game you will need to relog to see the new name.
  • Don't try to take someone else's old name.
  • Don't pick something deceptively similar to an existing player.
  • You can't be one of the well known mojang developers ;)
  • Don't be currently pearled.
  • No extreme racial or sexual names.
Voting


Voting
Voting is a great way to express your appreciation for the server, to help attract new players to venture into Anarchic Frontiers and, most importantly, to get Rewards!

Rewards are determined randomly, some will be of minor use or novelty, yet some can be quite valuable and rare. The value of the rewards also increases based on continuous voting streaks and voting milestones!

You can also upvote the latest server thread on reddit. However, there is no way to reward upvotes, and you can only upvote once per post (every 2 weeks)


Getting Rewards

  • Make sure you spell your name exactly the same, CaSe Is SeNsTtIvE!
  • You can vote once a day on each site.
  • Each time you vote you get a reward.
  • That means a total of three rewards a day.
  • Voting sprees (voting many days in a row) gives you a chance at more valuable rewards!
  • When your total vote count reaches a milestones you will also be awarded unique prizes.
  • If you are offline when you vote, you may claim your rewards using the /vr claim command.


The Rewards
Rewards vary from simply things like food and clothes to diamonds, spawn eggs and powerful named items. Use the /vr rewards command in game for more details.

Pounders


Some blocks will change when they are pounded by an anvil. You can even use a sticky piston to lift (and drop) an anvil. -- Sticky pistons are temporarily broken so use regular pistons instead for now --

  • Stone cracks into Cobblestone.
  • Cobblestone pulverizes into Sand.
  • Hardened Clay pulverizes into Red Sand.
  • Smooth Stone Brick turns to Cracked Stone Brick

You can add a Pounder to a cobblestone generator to create a sand generator! Piston's can only move blocks with no reinforcement, so protect any redstone devices you create that use pistons with a reinforced enclosure.

Vampires

Intro
Ancient powers of true light and darkness have awoken. Through the use of altars these powers tap into our dimension, in recent times the darkness has gained a stronger connection. It spreads as an infectious disease that only the altars of light and holy water can cure. Those who embrace the dark disease are granted the powerful curse of Vampirism.

Anyone can become a vampire, but do you want to? During daytime vampires cower from sunlight. During the night the humans reach for their holy water and wooden stakes as the vampires roam the lands with inhuman strength, speed and levitation-powers. Driven by their endless bloodlust, they devour all living in their way


Feeding

Vampires can feed on most living animals, even spiders and tamed animals. They get the most benefit from feeding on humans!

Vampires

  • are destroyed by sunlight.
  • are extremely vulnerable to wood and holy water.
  • spreads the dark disease through combat and their own blood.
  • kill and drink blood instead of eating food.
  • regenerate health quickly at the expense of food-level.
  • take no fall- or suffocation-damage.
  • have stationary food level unless in bloodlust mode.
  • move faster, jump higher and damage more with bloodlust.


The Dark Disease
The dark disease is not to be confused with Vampirism. The dark disease will make you sicker and sicker until you finally turn into a vampire. This will take around 3 in-game day-night cycles. Use /v s,show to see your current state of disease.

To contract the disease you can use an altar of darkness. You also risk infection if you accept a blood offer from a vampire or engage in close-combat with one. Vampires may decide if they intend to infect during combat or not. For each attack (from either you or the vampire) the risk is 5% with intent and an 0.3% without (/v i,intend).

To stop the disease you can use an altar of light or holy water (sparkling splash potion). The disease will not reset if you log off or die.

To cure actual vampirism you need to use an altar of light.


Blood Transfer
Anyone (both vampires and humans) can use the commands /v o,offer and /v a,accept to trade blood. What you actually trade is food-level. This way vampires can have “blood-slaves”. It’s also a way to transfer the dark disease. You can at most offer 20 (all your blood). If you offer all 20 the infection risk is 100%. If you offer 4 the risk is 20% etc.

Drinking blood from others is visible to those within 7 block. If you want to keep your vampirism secret you must thus avoid drinking blood in crowded areas.

Finally we suggest you try drinking blood from yourself. Try /v offer yourOwnPlayerName


The Bloodlust
Bloodlust is the main vampire advantage. Close combat damage is increased by 20% but most importantly the vampires run with double speed and jump six times as high with increased air maneuvering.

Vampires usually have a stationary foodlevel. In bloodlust their foodlevel will however drop on a time basis. After roughly 1min the vampire is too hungry/thirsty to use bloodlust.

A vampire in bloodlust emits a smoke-trail while moving. 


The Nightvision
Vampires can use night vision any time they want. It can be toggled on and off using the command “/v n”. The night vision is free and does not consume food level. It works just like the potion effect but you don’t emit particles. This way others can’t see you are using nightvision.


The Sun
The Sun is the main vampire dis-advantage. When vampires are exposed to sunlight their body temperature will increase fast. Vampires simply can’t stand sunlight. At high temperatures vampires will burst into flame and become blinded. Wearing armor or hiding in shade will help vampires keep their cool.


Stakes and Holy Water
A bloodlusting vampire is a very strong opponent. They are however very weak against wooden stakes and holy water. Rely on these two tools and you may protect yourself as the sun goes down.

Wooden stakes deal three times the damage of a diamond-sword to vampires. All of these items are considered wooden stakes: Stick, Wooden Sword, Wooden Axe, Wooden Pickaxe, Wooden Spade, Wooden Hoe, Sign, Torch, Redstone Torch, Fence and Fence Gate.

Holy water is a splash potion. The ingredients required are 1 Water Bottle and 1 Lapis Lazuli Dye. Hold the water bottle and right-click an altar of light to create the splash potion. In your inventory this potion is called “Sparkling Potion” and seems to have no effects though it actually has two.

The potion cures those infected with the dark disease. It will not cure full vampires though. A vampire hit with holy water will suffer a 70% temperature increase. This means vampire will go blind and catch fire if they are hit by two holy water potions. The only damage taken is the one from burning but as the vampire is in no condition to fight the best way of action in that case is to flee before someone gets close with a wooden stake.


Altars of Darkness and Light



To use an altar you right-click the main block (gold or lapis lazuli). Altars can be built by anyone. The altars are made of the main block and some secondary blocks. The vampire plugin make dead bushes and web easily obtainable. A web is craftable from 5 string in an X pattern and a bush drops a bush.


Altar of Darkness
A Gold Block with these blocks within a 10 block radius:
  • 30 Obsidian
  • 5 Web
  • 5 Dead Bush (Go to a desert. Find a dead bush. Hit it with your fist.)
  • 2 Diamond Block
The altar of darkness can be used to contract the dark disease that after a while will turn you into a vampire (you will not turn instantly). To activate the altar you need these items:
1 Mushroom Soup,10 Bone, 10 Charcoal

Altar of Light
A Lapis Lazuli Block with these blocks within a 10 block radius:
  • 30 Glowstone
  • 5 Yellow Flower
  • 5 Red Rose
  • 2 Diamond Block
The altar of light removes the dark disease for free. To cure yourself from vampirism you need these items: 1 Water Bucket, 10 Glowstone Dust, 20 Sugar, 20 Wheat. To create holy water you need these items: 1 Water Bottle, 1 Lapis Lazuli Dye and you can’t be a vampire. Only non vampires can create holy water.

Tweaks


In addition to the other more central features, there are numerous minor tweaks for convenience, playability improvements, challenge and just plain fun.

Physics
  • Trees will fall when chopped down.
  • Netherrack can ignite when broken.
  • Dirt and and Cobblestone fall when not supported.
  • Falling blocks can hurt you if you are hit by them.
  • Deeper underground the air becomes thicker, hotter, and has less oxygen, as a result you will become weak and fatigued the deeper you go.
  • Ice placed near lava will cause it to cool.
  • If lava mixes with redstone as it cools it will create obsidian (same as before)
  • Fires won't spread.
  • Fires destroy spider webs quickly.

Farming
  • Crop yields are lower and many factors lessen the chance of a viable crop, such as low light, growing underground, arid biomes (deserts, mesas, hell, nether) and unwatered soil
  • Water sources can't easily be moved

Misc
  • Gravel has a chance to drop quartz or gunpowder when broken in addition to flint (even when it breaks by falling)
  • Nether quartz ore has a chance to drop glowstone dust.
  • You can sit on chars (stairs) just like sitting in a vehicle.
  • Zombie villagers have a chance to drop items they may have had before they became zombies.
  • Cauldrons will fill an unlimited number of water bottles.
  • On death, you will be told the location where you died. No one else sees this message.
  • Enderman pearl drop rate is increased in overworld. (they can even drop double)
  • Enderman have stopped their block thieving ways.
  • Surface level creeper explosions are disabled.
  • Item Despawn time is increased to 10 minutes.
  • Zombie pigmen won't spawn at a portal.
  • Tamed animals can be given to other players by handing them the leash. (including horses)
  • Tamed Horses can only be used my their owners.
  • Monster Spawns are more targeted toward areas players are likely to interact with them.
  • Exiting a Vehicle while holding a weapon drops the vehicle.
  • Exiting Vehicles no longer puts you in far/random places. (minecraft bug)
  • You can /beamup to the shuttle from any clear flat place on the surface.
  • You Respawn with temporary protection, until you attack something.
  • Iron golems slowly regenerate.
  • Sponges can be found from fishing.
