Anarchic Frontiers Minecraft Server

So I started my kind of one-man explorer guild. Basically I want to cartograph the whole Meiva, and put it into minecraft's maps (a 1:16 version and a 1:8 version).

I need to gather some resources (mainly redstone) to start my crusade. In the meanwhile, I'm simply exploring the world. Here's what I found out so far:

Meiva is 6100x6100, with no negative axes. So, Meiva's Center is around 3000, 3000. That's almost where the Skylands are. So I ask to its inhabitats, may I make an outpost there with you? I'd like to be centered on the map. If not, I'll make a base at the close boneyard.

I know you made some maps already. I accept map donations, and I'd be very thankful if you let me clone yours.

I also offer my services. If you want a specific zone mapped out, I'll do it for a humble fee: 1 iron block and 1 redstone block up to 1:4 maps, 2 for 1:8 maps and 4 for 1:16 maps. We can also exchange maps.

 :-D  This is amazing yes I will try to donate what I can I will donate a bed iron, a good sword, Jonin has some redstone I would love to see a full world map.  At the end we we love a copy of it in Skylands for all to see in a protected housing like in OC on the AF map.  The Shanghai_kid thru sheer love of labor mapped the entire  AF world when it was very hostile and dangerous, so this is no easy feet you are embarking on.  with the beam up feature you can hide maps in chests  or meet people on ship to hold maps as you create them so incase you die all is not lost.  Sky lands is Jonin's city, but is open to those who will not grief or steal, so I am sure we have plenty of floating land for you.   8-)

I should soon have plenty of iron to contribute, if nothing else. :)

Ok, It's going to take just 9 1:16 maps, each of these subdivided into 4 1:8 sub-maps. So the final map will have 9 neat and elegant quadrants! North-West, North, North-East, West, Center, East, South-West, South, South-East.

I'm using NW, N, NE, W, C, E, SW, S and SE as shortened nomenclature, and .1, .2, .3, .4 as sub-map specifier.

NW quadrant is already done! I found some cool places on NW.4 sub-map, but the rest are mainly water so it was a bit boring. Next session will cover North quadrant and I hope it is more interesting!

I didn't map NW.1 because it's just a blue square.

North quadrant is near to be finished.

NW's main feature is New Dawn. A bit to the south from there there's another settlement, whose name and inhabitants I don`t know yet.

New Dawn Region is a mild coastal savannah easily habitable. The plains extend to the east by the coast line, with some great places for settlement (huge coastal plain in N.2). In NW, the savannah borders with a (yet unexplored) mesa.

In North Quadrant, though, the savannah turns into the Northern Hills, a highly steep mountain system with deep valleys and some internal lakes. Very hard to traverse unless you follow the natural valleys from/to the coast.

But the main feature is the Ice Ring, a huge cold zone with ice trees and a huge ring of floating ice enclosing a round icy mountain wich holds a great frozen lake. It looks like a crater that attracts water and generates cold. Some weird force makes frozen water orbit around it. What may lie at the bottom of this lake?

Redstone (about 35 to get everything done) and... Time! My finals are in two weeks and I can't log in as often as I'd like.

So are you gonna start copying maps and selling them? I'd like to know how much you'd sell them for. If you do sell.

Has anyone see Dresdom?  I know he said he had a few irl things todo, just check on the status of the map.  :)

it doesn't go by online time, it goes by other stats, which i don't reveal because i don't want anyone trying to game them

it is a pretty accurate estimation of actual activity though

Yeah, I always found that to be a weird clause. Did he have to specify to Dobs every time he handed him clothes in an incidental way, "Now Dobbie, these clothes aren't now your property. I'm telling you to wash my laundry." And what qualified something as clothes? I'd be willing to hat a book itself if my freedom was dependent on it. So, only specific items? Is there a list of these items, or are they all implicitly understood? If that's the case, can you appeal that in this instance it was or wasn't clothes? Gets ridiculously fastidious. ....Anyway, we're supposed to also keep these threads fastidiously on topic.
