Title: Set your render distance to 8 chunks or less Post by: Intangir on January 18, 2014, 12:06:43 am For best results, set your render distance, in your client's settings to 8 chunks (or less)
this will provide you the optimal rendering performance there is a problem somewhere (not sure if client or server is to blame) but if you set it higher, it won't load until your almost STANDING in a chunk, which makes for a really lousy gaming experience So set yours to 8 or less and you will pretty much always be able to see a resecptable distance as your traveling around, its waaaaay better if you want to know why readon: I think what probably happens is, your client requests to see chunks (for example) 12 chunks away, but the server doesn't have them loaded, so it gives you nothing, the client goes without loading them at all! even when you get very close to them, then when your within 1 chunk distance away, it requests again, the server has loaded it this time because your within 8, and so it sends the chunk if you set it to 8 instead, whenever you request the chunk, the server will have already loaded it too, and send it right away, resulting in a much better view of the world Title: Re: Set your render distance to 8 chunks or less Post by: Intangir on January 18, 2014, 12:07:48 am also remember, anytime you launch an older version of minecraft it will reset your client settings
youll have to reset your run button and chunk view distances again :(, i think this is because the old version was incompatible with the new settings file which includes new settings |
